Fooling

Here's a pretty cabled sailor collar I'm playing with. The yarn is Beaverslide Dry Goods Worsted Weight in Mountain Midnight. I've had it stashed for a good year or so, and have been wanting to knit with it but wasn't sure what. I originally bought it to make the Tweedy Aran Cardigan (Rav link), but I decided that sweater wouldn't look so good on me almost as soon as the yarn arrived.

In any case, here's the collar-in-progress:

The yarn is OK to work with--it's pretty easy to miss a ply, and I've had a lot of knots in the skeins I've used so far, but it is so beautiful that I think it's worth the trouble. I love the color, and the fabric somehow feels both tough and soft.
